This app generates one-time passwords (OTP) to be verified by your applications. Many popular applications allow two-step authentication for enhanced security such as amazon, bitcoin, facebook, dropbox, gmail, salesforce, wordpress... Other proprietary or private applications may also enable two-factor authentication too.
Main features:
- You can keep as many OTP tokens as you need
- You can scan a QR code (bar code) provided by your application to create the OTP token
- You can name your tokens to your convenience so that you remember which one you need in each case
- Works offline, no information is shared or sent
- No ads, no subscriptions, no fees, no upgrades
This app takes very seriously the security of your passwords and takes every measure available to protect them. Passwords are generated from a key token that once it has been created, it is kept and protected by the devices keychain, and it will never be exposed or leave the device, it is not stored or kept around in memory longer than needed, and it is removed and unaccessible once the device is locked. This also means that the token cannot be reproduced, if it gets lost or unusable, there is no way to recover it, the only option left is to create a new password token from your application.
One-time passwords are passwords that are automatically generated by your device following robust standard algorithms. DOUBLESecurity app allows you to generate OTPs following the IETFs RFC6238 (TOTP: Time-Based One-Time Password Algorithm) and RFC4226 (HOTP: An HMAC-Based One-Time Password Algorithm). This gives users the warranty that their resources can only be accessed by "knowing" the traditional password AND "having" the device that generates the OTP. This is known as two-factor authentication of the user (something you know, and something you have).
